We hope that this website will give you an overview of who we are, what we do, and why we do it. Because words and images alone fail to convey the spirit of our fellowship, we invite you to experience our community by gathering with us for worship, discipleship, fellowship, or service. Check out the information below for how to find us.
Siideshow: A Year in the Life of Covenant Church
Sunday Worship Gathering
The church is the body of Christ gathered and not a building. Covenant Church typically gathers for corporate worship each Sunday morning in the historic courtroom of the Putnam County Courthouse. However, special events and circumstances may necessitate a change of venue. Please check our cover page for the latest information. For example, due to ongoing renovations at the courthouse we are temporarily meeting for worship at Avery Trace Middle School. Follow this link for more information.
You are welcome to worship with us and celebrate the glory of the Lord.
9:30 - breakfast refreshments and fellowship
10:00 - worship
Although all of our services are intergenerational, childcare is provided for babies throughout the service and preschoolers are invited to an age-appropriate lesson during the sermon. Click here to see our childcare philosophy, arrangements, and child protection policies The service usually concludes by 11:30 a.m.
Parking is available around the courthouse or in the parking lot located north of the square.
The bedrock of ministry in Covenant Church is missional community. Currently, eight missional communities meet in homes throughout Cookeville and Algood each week for a meal, pray, Bible study, and fellowship.
These small groups function in much the same way as the house churches of the New Testament. It is in fellowship that we care for one another, disciple one another, and encourage one another through all that life brings. Each missional community is intergenerational and open to believers and nonbelievers alike. Contact us for more information.
