The following men serve as the elders of Covenant Church. They humbly provide ministry, leadership, management, and discipline for the church fellowship. Jonathan Nelms, DWS, Elder-Pastor
Jonathan and his wife Glenda founded Covenant Church in 2011. They have two sons who also live in Cookeville: Nathan who teaches English at Cookeville High School and John Philip (JP) who is a senior at Tennessee Tech. Jonathan serves as pastor of Covenant Church and Glenda coordinates the music.
Richard Newman, Elder
Richard has served as an elder at Covenant Church since December, 2016. He and his wife Kassandra lead the White Plains Missional Community. Richard and Kassandra work as account executives at Swallows Insurance.
Larry Taylor, Elder
Larry is a founding elder of Covenant Church. He and his wife Connie leader the Capshaw Missional Community. They have three children and ____ grandchildren. Larry works as a wealth advisor at UBS in Cookeville.
Chris Vick, Elder
Chris has served as an elder of Covenant Church since December, 2016. He and his wife Sissy have two sons, Hunter who is a sophomore at Tennessee Tech and Micah who is a senior at Cookeville High School. The Vicks lead the Hidden Cove Missional Community. Sissy also serves as church treasurer. The Vicks own and operate Vick Surveying in Cookeville.
Chris Wilson, Ph.D., Elder
Chris is a founding elder of Covenant Church. He and his wife Tammy have one daughter Jessie who is a senior at Cookeville High Schoo. The Wilson lead the Shipley Church Missional Community. Chris is chairman of the general and basic engineering department and professor of mechanical engineering at Tennessee Tech. Tammy is a CPA and Covenant Church is one of her clients.
